More than three years ago, the gates of Hell opened to accept people from all walks of life into the Penance community. Thanks to all these sinners, this little portion of Hell has slowly become more alive. The more characters give into their temptations and choose the path of corruption, the more areas and buildings unlock. Sure, you can gain a whole new life or be welcomed into the gates of Heaven if you resist but is it really worth that much pain and, frankly, boredom?

Most of the community is surrounded by tall heavy-duty cast fencing with a few gates around its perimeter. Within these borders, characters are mostly safe. People can explore outward beyond the gates but do so at their own peril. The further someone travels outward the more hellish it becomes. The terrain is consumed by fire, lava, and ash. If characters survive the elements, they might instead run into several hell-beasts and demons that can give even the strongest warriors a run for their money.

Not to fear! There’s plenty to explore within. Various buildings are scattered here and there. Some of these buildings are bustling businesses open to all, some can be explored but are rotting away and possibly quite dangerous, and some won't open at all. As the game progresses, new people arrive, and sinners who choose corruption continue their path, more will become available.

Toward the bottom of this page are player locations and businesses. Hell may grow on its own, but you can help make things happen too!

Map

This map is available in the library in physical form and also has been digitized and sent to every sinner on their device. As the community keeps expanding, so will the map. Check back often to see what is new and what is where. Smaller details like whose store is where in Hellburbia might never appear though. The demonic cartographers in Lucifer’s employ insist that it’s enough that you have a general idea of what’s where. It’s enough that you'll know where Hellburbia is. There’s no reason to risk anyone’s life just because some sinners like to live dangerously.

Within The Gates

The Hotel
Standing in the center of the Penance community is the hotel where most characters and all new arrivals are currently housed. The building seems to have emerged from the Gothic school of architecture, made of brick with various statues and gargoyles harkening back to buildings of yore. Decaying foliage can be found all around the grounds as vines in various states of life consume the exterior. Out back there are stables where various demonic horses and hellhounds are kept.

This building is taller than other establishments and also one of the more active areas around the community. Beyond hosting sinners, the hotel comes with all sorts of surprises, many of which have yet to be revealed. This building has approximately four floors above the main floor and lobby as well as a basement and a number of sub-basements, many of which have yet to unlock.

People can find Lilith’s office on the ground floor and Lucifer’s at the penthouse. Keep in mind, it may not always stay this way. Over time, the building seems to shift and change upon the whims of Lucifer himself. For more information about the hotel, click here.

Club Penance
Repeatedly destroyed by damage inflicted both by sinners and by outsiders, Club Penance seems almost as if it responds to the people within it. To the people desperate for a good time, for a chance to drink and dance and forget the world, Club Penance seems like a bustling nightclub. It’s loud and neon and full of staff who don’t ask questions while they show you off to a private booth. It can be a dignified establishment where guests go to blow off steam and dance their cares away, but it doesn’t take much effort to shake an emcee’s hand and get access to the upstairs levels and find a sex-soaked den of corruption and debauchery. This is a place that deals in vices, from drugs imported from every world to the most depraved acts best hidden from more innocent eyes.

Library
Contrasting the garish night club, a library also sits near the hotel!

The library has an olden feel to it and is full of dusty tomes and leather bound books a plenty settled on beautiful hand-crafted wooden shelves. You may not always find the newest or best quality reads around in here, but the demons who run it do try to always get fresh shipments of books down to the underworld! The shipping is atrocious.

These demons aren't quite like the staff at the hotel or the sex club though. No, these fellows were ones who used to spend their time tempting folks away from more “pure” religions into witchcraft and the occult. You can bet there's quite a section on that in this particular library! And the demons seem all too eager to usher people over.

Wouldn't you like a demon familiar hanging around? Or wouldn't you like to learn how to give someone you hate a bad case of warts? Say no more! They have just what you need. Please ignore the books that look like they're bound in flesh and written in blood of some kind. Or don't. They might be interesting.

Everyone is free to linger as long as they want in the library or to check out books, but please note that if you're not quick about returning them, you might get an angry visit or two. Have fun with your hair falling out or losing one of your senses because you're two weeks late on your return. These guys don't play around!

There’s a small section for various kinds of movies, and plenty of shifty looking demons hanging around the library. Maybe they just look scary though. Maybe what they really want is to discuss their favorite new book. Probably not, but you can try.

There’s also a book club if you want to join! Although right now it seems to be mostly demons.

Day Spa & Bathhouse
Per Lucifer's instruction, a day spa and bathhouse has been opened up! It's more for his own benefit than anyone else's, really. He's a hard working devil and he deserves a bit of pampering after all.

Like all spas, guests of the hotel can go in for some deserved pampering. Facials, massages, steam baths, and more. The bathhouse has an area to shower before you go in for a nice soak in the spacious tubs available. Please note that these are unisex areas, but there are some private tubs for those who are too shy. The demons may side-eye you and your ridiculous standards for modesty though.

Unfortunately, due to the rush to put it all together, there are some…kinks to still work out. Some of the tubs may reach boiling temperatures suddenly or steam rooms may lock and become insufferably hot before guests can get out. The demons may not account for the frailer, squishier bodies of some of the sinners during massages (or that's what they say at least).

Some of the treatments may be strange as well. Baths full of blood of the young that staff claim will restore your youth, pheromone washes that are derived from incubi that are said to make you absolutely irresistible to everyone. You're probably better off not asking what that mud-like substance is they're trying to rub on your face.

It can still be a fun time though, right?

Theatre
A short walk from the hotel stands a grand theatre. The flickering signs make it hard to miss and it's surrounded by a few very broken down buildings still abandoned.

Outside, it looks like an old classic establishment from a time long since passed, but it has all the modern conveniences inside. From plush seats that recline and maybe get a bit too into their massage option to all the treats you could ask for. Grab yourself some popcorn, a soda, hot dogs, or whatever else you want. We promise, there’s something for everyone to treat themselves to! There's also alcoholic beverages available for those who really need help getting through a movie.

The films playing aren’t titles that anyone would recognize but there’s a huge variety in genre. Comedies, although a bit dark in humor, horrors, tragedies, and every once in awhile a hardcore porn or two.

Arcade
Located within the theatre is an arcade with various games including zombie-themed shooters, Pac-Man, pinball machines, motorcycle racing, and claw machines and more! There’s also one that's supposed to test romantic compatibility between couples. See if you're truly meant to be!

The Warehouse
The warehouse is a fairly large and ominous looking building within the gates of the community. It’s seemingly abandoned for the most part, although it has been home to both a twisted Tunnel of Love and parties put on by demonic hooligans.

While mostly empty, this building does seem to be haunted. Those breaking in may see things from the corner of their eyes. Some people claim to experience poltergeist-like activity at times It may be harmless, but every now and then you might find a pipe hurtling toward you out of nowhere or loud echoing voices screeching so loud it's painful.

Other than that, there’s usually some abandoned magical items scattered about. Candles, various ingredients (some quite strange), actual blood...Leftovers from demons when they go to practice the odd spell or two.

Casino Styx
There was a time when sinners with a southern view would spend their evenings avoiding the gaudy neon lights flooding into their windows from the most extravagant construct within the gates. The excess from those days is replaced with a sad trickle of lava that hasn’t yet cooled and hardened, heralding a structure that was once a monument of excess. The once-golden exterior stands brassy and tarnished. The enormous statue of Charon is headless, its boat leaking in the bloody pool that used to be a decoration. This was once a casino to rival the luxury of anything in Vegas.

But the dilapidation only exists as far as the exterior gardens. Past the ruined statue, sinners will find themselves treated to a veritable wonderland inside. Those who wish to try their luck are welcomed, and even encouraged to venture inside.

The casino includes a variety of all the expected games, ranging from slots to poker to blackjack to roulette, and anything else imaginable. What is the point in gambling when there's no currency in Hell, one may ask? Well, that's where the real fun begins! In games with higher stakes, wagers can be made with bits of soul that get converted to the form of chips, made either with the patron's or, if you're too cowardly to bet your own, harvested from the damned souls in other parts of Hell. Be warned! Lose too many of these chips made from your own soul while gambling and sinners may start to experience a concerning lack of conscience, emotion, or feel a sudden eagerness to indulge in a vice that's natural to them. Not to worry though. As long as a sinner maintains a little of their soul, the effect will be temporary as the energy repairs itself and becomes whole again over the next week or two. And people are certainly encouraged to play, and to keep playing. The high roller rewards are huge, and for quickie weddings, there are honeymoon suites (complete with plush bed and jacuzzi), good for one night after a marriage.

And strangely, sinners will find that a little bit of gambling goes a long way. A jackpot is thrilling, especially when the prize is the souls of others. Winning big makes everything more exciting. There’s no way you can stop when you’re this lucky! Just one more hand. ….And maybe another one after that. It’s not a problem! You can stop whenever you want to. Probably.

Gambling with souls does offer winners the ability to win upgrades to their rooms (Softer beds, better electronics, etc.), earn a night in a lavish suite at the hotel, or VIP perks at Club Penance. Win big enough and one may also earn a request from home or to be put on a waitlist for the casino’s high roller rooms. It’s a wager worth making, isn’t it? The house can’t possibly win every time…

Oh. You lost? Well, that happens to the best of us! Sinners who’ve managed to lose big will be welcome to take out a line of credit from the establishment and keep playing! At the end of their session, their losses will be calculated into a labor schedule. You played hard, and now you can work hard. There’s always an opening for cigarette girls and shoeshine boys, after all.

Those who enter without gambling might have a different experience, however. They’ll just see more damage. Rusted, creaking machines barely function at all, and everything stinks like a mix of ash and mildew. The patrons at the slots look like zombies, pumping chips into the machines with glassy eyes while rodents and insects skitter over them. You probably have to play the games to get the appeal.

Graveyard
Not far from the hotel is a graveyard with more than enough gravestones for every sinner, and then some.Any grass or plants in the area are dark blue, gray, brown or black in color, but sparse. Even the atmosphere looks darker than usual amongst the stones.

Outside of sin confession sessions, the graveyard has blank markers, however, there are some gravestones with the name of a Sinner, and below are dates - one for each time a sinner died.

Cabeswater
The Cabeswater forest, as it appears in Hell, is a feral and ethereal place. Though one can walk around the forest in a matter of minutes, once you enter, time has little meaning and you can become lost in there just as if it were a dream - because, in ways, it is.

The old growth trees seem to guide or hinder your adventure, show you to incredible places, beautiful streams and curious creatures hiding just out of sight. If you listen closely, the trees will even speak to you - sometimes in an ancient and unknowable language, sometimes in Latin, but occasionally in other languages that your character may be familiar with.

However, there are darker portions of the forest. The forest has a mind of its own and will decide to attack those that it believes are an attack on it. As well as a prophetic tree (which will show you some of the darkest possibilities of the future to come although whether it is true or not is anyone’s guess), there are periodic (but unpredictable) acid-lakes, and there is also a clearing which is slowly... unmaking.

The forest sustains itself by drawing on the local magic. But the forces that created it are in a constant state of attempting to destroy it. A giant black wasp resides here, constantly feeding on the fantasies and the sorcery of the forest. It selects its victims by presenting a something tantalizing out of their imagination. A widow might see her lost love. An artist might find a muse to chase. A weary traveler might see the flash of a mermaid’s fin in the lake. But whatever they see, they’ll feel an overwhelming desire to approach the creature. The more mystical power a character possesses, the more irresistible the pull will be. Hopefully visiting wizards will bring along a clearheaded friend that can save them from giving themselves over to the arcane predator of the forest.

Pacts can be made with the Unmaker demon, and with the forest itself. Both are dangerous, and the resident Dreamers of Hell (Ronan and Kavinsky) recommend neither

Hellburbia
Somewhere off in the distance close to the cast-iron fencing is a nice little slice of life. Some sinners may have less than excited reactions to the area given they remember from whence it came, but those times are in the past! Now it’s just a harmless little place. Aw, look. It’s so quaint!

Welcome to Hellburbia, the sign reads.
Remember that village in Edward Scissorhands? Well, it’s a lot like that. In this pristine community gated off from the surrounding hellscape, everything is prim, proper, eerily perfect. It almost seems like when you walk in the sun is shining upon you! Green grass, pearly white fences, cute little houses and shops all in a row. Wait… is that a crack in the sidewalk? Well, don’t mind it! It’ll be fixed…Hold on, are one of those flowers in that beautiful lawn starting to wilt? Surely it’s nothing…

While this precious little suburb seems flawless in every way, there’s quite a few signs that something happened here. A patch of grass charred away; a window with one single crack; knife marks on one of the garage doors or that stain of blood in the pavement that just won’t wash away.

There’s good news, though! Sinners can take up residence here if they want to. All of these houses are empty and ready to welcome people into them. Furthermore, there’s cute little shops and establishments where a sinner can start making use of their time.

As they say, idle hands are the devil’s.

Dante's Diner
Good old fashioned milk shakes and burgers served by demons on skates, in poodle skirts, the official Dante's Diner uniform. Sinners may apply to work in the diner, but they must adhere to the uniform expectation (regardless of gender).

Mammon's Park
A flourishing location with a friendly ice cream demon and other food stands, but most importantly, flora that has been fed with the Savior’s own blood. While everything carries an odd bruised or red look to it, thanks to the blood, it has a certain beauty to it…

It has hell roses with eyeballs, sad, tiny plants that whimper when sinners get too close, tall weed-like plants (with thorns) that like to hug each other and passer-by alike, as well as live music performances and a wishing well that is under construction, amongst other flora.

The Barbas Institute for Demonic Studies
Gifted to the community as a peace offering from Barbas, the Institute exists to help sinners learn to understand the changes they might be going through. Barbas is of the opinion that all sinners will one day become good demons, and so the school exists to help those who may seek answers. There was once a time when sinners were sent to school against their will, but those days have passed.

If sinners agree to enroll, they will receive suitable uniforms and be able to enroll in a variety of courses. Skilled individuals may also receive space to hold classes of their own, if they wish to pass their knowledge on to others.

Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center
An imposing looking construct. Tall and crafted from old sturdy brick with a gate around it to either keep others out, or keep them in.

Those close to the building may hear ominous barking of dogs to let them know that breaking in or escaping is probably a futile effort...There are also tall, intimidating demons guarding the place if the dogs don't scare you. Best to just not try any funny business!

Inside the imposing doors in an area to be checked in. First thing to notice: the hospital staff are all alarmingly attractive dressed in skimpy uniforms. Even the men mince about in high platforms and tiny white scrubs. They’ll evaluate all patients and decide on the best course of action. It seems that the demons designed this hospital after descriptions from the library’s particularly curated collections. Staff will fully dismiss any concerns about their uniforms or treatment plans. It all came from books! If the sinners don’t like it, that probably says more about how badly they need treatment to recover from their awful trauma.

There's a common area with a TV and plenty of activities ranging from board games to arts and crafts and more, all set out and ready for use. However, there will be no alcohol or (non-prescription) drugs allowed on the premises… (Unless you make a very nice offer to one of the staff at least. They aren't above the occasional bribe.)

Food will be given three times a day and will actually be fairly decent, but patients are allowed to try to sneak into the kitchen if they truly want. Just be wary of anyone else wandering the halls!

Available therapies include (but are not limited to):
  • group therapy (that may end in a patient getting their lips sewn shut!)
  • electro-shock therapy
  • isolation
  • submersion therapy

And a favorite! saturation therapy, that involves being given an hallucinogenic substance and placed in a chamber that will start spinning rapidly around the patient trapped inside.

The images drawn along the walls will start displaying memories or other traumas, and of course, others are allowed to try to sneak the victim out or help in any way they can. The nurses may be very cross if this is the case. They're doing this for all of your own good, and the nurses will swear this is the perfect treatment for fears or traumatic memories.

Time spent in Mercy may last up to two weeks. Guests may be allowed visitors if arrangements are made ahead of time.

    Outside The Gates

Most of what lays outside of the gates of Penance is difficult if not impossible to navigate. Lakes of bubbling and spewing lava, sinkholes, tar pits, rocky and uneven ground...almost everything is dead and charred. Among the wasteland stands various buildings in varying states of disrepair. It isn't just the terrain that sinners have to worry about should they dare to explore. It's also the wildlife. Hellbeasts of all kinds roam these areas. Some enormous, some small but just as tricky. Not to mention, many demons who may or may not agree with the way things are right now are hungry for blood and flesh.

For those curious enough, it seems like there are some places to find. Although at what cost or why anyone would want to roam them is truly unknown.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    The Maze of The Damned
Introduced to sinners some time ago, the maze remains a structure visible from behind the gates. Sitting just outside of the cast iron, it’s walls carved of old stone and overrun by decaying vines stand tall.

Some from the community may remember the story of how this maze gained its name. That once upon a time, the damned were locked within and set to wander day in and day out until they were too weak to keep moving. Here they remain to this day.

Surrounding the maze is what looks to have once been some kind of forest but all its foliage has long been burned and charred. The land stinks of rot and small creatures, some may even consider them possibly fairy looking, peer down at those who wander out here but be careful! They bite.

If you can find the entrance to the maze, you’ll be lucky to get out again. Within the walls are endless winding corridors with various deathly traps. One wrong step might get you skewered by huge spikes, your head chopped off, poisoned arrows thrown your way, large boulders directed barreling toward you, or cause the walls to move in until you’re crushed.

A wrong turn might also reveal your location to some of the wild demons that have crawled in and made home in the maze. The vines might reach out to grab and strangle you or, maybe one of those unlucky damned now mere skeletons awaken to grab a hold of you and literally try to steal your flesh.

It’s said that lost, angry spirits still lurk within the walls as well. It isn’t uncommon for them to take on the form of a loved one to trick unsuspecting sinners into staying and rotting away with them.

Currently, the middle of this maze offers two options: an exit, or a granted wish. You cannot have both, however. Only one.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Coliseum
It’s not uncommon for sinners to be consumed by the spirit of wrath after they’ve been in Hell long enough. Frothing, seething violence tends to just happen at times. It’s nothing particularly remarkable, but it might require an outlet. The coliseum exists for that, standing at an imposing height and fully visible from the east side of the hotel despite its distance. It is inspired by ancient Greco-Roman spectacle, an enormous open-air amphitheater that can fit an audience of several hundred.

The front-facing portions are clean and secure, though the ushers are quick to separate the spectators from the combatants. Those in the audience are kept comfortable in direct proportion to how well they are favored by Lucifer. The staff here is particularly cutthroat and eager to advance their own standing. They know exactly who Lucifer’s favorites are, and those are the ones who are pushed into VIP boxes and encouraged to drink the fine wines. The regular schlubs can head up the stairs to the nosebleed seats.

The fighters, though, are taken down into a basement staging area and invited past cages of exotic beasts from across the underworld, fierce animals kept underfed and regularly provoked to ensure they’ll be at their bloodthirstiest. Across a sand-covered wooden floor, they’ll be given gear and asked to change into battle garments before being directed to holding chambers where they can prepare for battle. Combatants are watched closely and guided away from particular doors, warned that there is no access allowed to the catacombs for any reason. Should the questions go on too long, the staff isn’t shy about treating characters with potions to increase their aggression until they’re too furious to think straight anymore. They came here to fight, not think.

Recently, there seems to have been an increase in underhanded activity that might have something to do with the shark-toothed sinner who resembles one of the imposing statues near the entrance. Hopefully the burgeoning fight club is as consensual as everyone says it is.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Campground
A small campground that looks like it hasn’t been used in quite some time stands near the village. A few torn up tents, rotting benches, wooden structures so decrepit that it’s difficult to tell what they once were. A firepit long since abandoned with various litter around. Nothing too exciting here. Just move along.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Abandoned Village
A small, wrecked village outside of the gates of Penance. It looks like it saw something pretty devastating happen to it. Many houses are in shambles while others looked like whoever lived there just got up and abruptly left with their belongings scattered behind. There isn’t much to be seen other than the large church that stands in the middle of it, somehow holding together...

Long-tenured sinners might remember this as the place where a ritual was once held, and where something awful was summoned. Runes and old blood seem arbitrarily placed, as if those who left them weren’t quite in their right minds at the time. But they seem to form a trail, guiding travelers toward the church.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Abandoned Church
Something dark happened here. The dusty pews and rotted wood are half-charred and caked with dark sulfur. The church stands tall and ominous in the middle of the ghost village. The scant books left behind are tossed haphazardly in piles, pages torn out and sometimes burned. What texts are recoverable are written in some ancient language that none will be able to read. An organ, deathly out of tune, sits long untouched near the altar.

It might have been abandoned for a reason, though. Characters who linger too long might find themselves swept into the wisps of forces past. They might see visions of something the mortal mind was never meant to comprehend. It’s a maddening series of visions, and dwelling too long could easily lead to obsession. The Order understands… The Order is the key to unlocking it all.

Those who linger might grow obsessed with the scrawled symbols and what they might mean. It’s probably best to leave before those discarded robes start to seem appealing.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    The Stone Fortress
Very, very difficult to get to and why anyone would want to is truly unknown. Further beyond 'torture island' lies wreckage of an area that might cause nightmares for some sinners to this day. If sinners do manage to travel the hellish landscape and get here alive, or mostly alive, they might not be so lucky while within.

The smell of charred earth is thick in what’s left standing of this building. The reek of decay is almost nauseating and something that smells like... bodies, maybe? Rotting, decomposing, grotesque.

This is the former home of The Veiled Order, or one of them at least. The stone construct is only half-standing and within the walls that remain are countless rusted cell doors with chains still attached to the wall. Once used to hold captive many a person, it seems. Another room reveals a tub meant for bathing former sacrifices in ritualistic fashion. There’s scattered ash where something has been burnt and some decaying corpses left behind.

The most horrific area is a deep brick pit still full of blood. It no longer boils, but the meat hooks strung to the ceiling above it, the altar to the side… one can safely assume nothing good happened here at all.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Torture Island
While it’s never explicitly said, the demons (almost affectionately) refer to this place as ‘Torture Island’ or ‘Lucifer Island’. It’s said that this is where Lucifer takes guests for a little one-on-one time. Whether that ever means anything good… well, that depends on your definition. It usually means a bit of personalized torture for someone who has been particularly naughty.

On the island is a large mansion. While the outside looks dreary and imposing, inside it’s lavishly done up in black and white, and always has demons guarding the premises.

For those curious to go to this island, it’s off-limits unless someone is explicitly invited. Otherwise, it seems to be guarded by some sort of magical force that leaves it nearly impossible to even get close to. Boats or planes will mysteriously break down in horrific ways, those that can fly on their own will find themselves fainting and waking up back where they started.

    ( Back To Map & Key )

    Employment
Idle hands are the hands of the Devil as they say. In order to make sure sinners are on the right path to redemption, they are given an opportunity to pitch in and help with duties around the Hotel and outside of it. They're even given free reign to create their own business. Characters are also free to list their skills as hireable freelance for trade or barter. It is assumed this freelance listing can be found ICly on a bulletin board in the Library.

Please feel free to be creative with your character's choices. A character does not need to have ownership of a business in order to claim a job. It could be something as simple as a dish washer for the hotel. Working in the laundry room. Hotel electrician, and more!

Form to add a sinner as employed is here.

    Player Businesses
Sinners may now claim shops as they settle into life in Hell! It may be a while, so may as well keep those idle hands busy, right? There are multiple establishments in the now unused suburbs as well as outside of the area and within the Penance gates. Warehouses, boarded up shops, and more! Please feel free to claim a shop for whatever you desire!

A small clinic of sorts where those who are wounded, poisoned, or suffering from the effects of mind-altering can come to be treated via magic. The interior has been arranged in a traditional Japanese style: the entrance is hardwood floor, and sinners are expected to take their shoes off before stepping onto the tatami. The business has two 4-tatami rooms. Eiji manages the waiting room and discusses the payment and other details with any client, after which they are allowed into the inner room, which is adorned with a low table and multiple zaisu. Tea and wagashi is served.

Under ongoing construction and renovation, this auto repair shop has space, and lingering equipment from prior management. A lot of parts from the nearby scrap yard still liter the shop. It's perfect for fixing up current vehicles, or building motorcycles and cars in.

    Supernova Ice Cream Parlor
    Location: Hellburbia
It's a dilapidated building in Hellburbia. It needs some love, but the machines still work. When it is finished, it will have a working freezer case for ice cream, Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and whatever else the owners can think of. It will also have a fancy coffee drink maker to make specialty coffees or hot drinks

Payment: Payment can generally be discussed and bartered on the spot, but the shop accepts a wide variety of materials useful for tinkering that can be scavenged all around Hell - scrap, device parts, ores, tools, demonic contraptions, magical stones, crystals or conduits, various oils or other parts harvested from hellbeasts or hellplants, and, occasionally, nice fresh cuts of edible hellbeast meat.

A repurposed industrial garage within the community, which now serves as a workshop for the resident engineers to play around in, and also offers repair services to other sinners. It's constantly in a practical state of disarray and has been visibly scavenged together over time. They currently can repair various appliances, weapons and mechanical devices (and even vehicles if the sinners have any), or build small gadgets, toys or custom inventions (within reason; time/size/material constraints may apply).

A pet groomer and day care/kennel located near the Hellbeast Shelter and Adoption Agency, this business is meant to care for the owned pets of Hell, run almost exclusively by sinners (and a few nicer young demons). The front of the business is dedicated to grooming and care of all sorts of animals and pets, from your friendly local Minion population to hell-beasts, and right on down to the rare rabbit, dog, and even little dragons. The rest of the place, behind a dividing wall, is a number of separate care areas, meant to serve as kennels and care places for those sinners who need either day care or who are gone for a longer period (such as being 'guests' of Lucifer's island, or incapacitated in the hotel. This back area is accessible to owners and employees, and interspecies play is carefully monitored to ensure there is no injuries. As an extra service, Minions are also instructed in animal care and taking care of home spaces, to be more comfortable in their homes. All pets are welcome with warning, and sinners can sign up for a check in service, where if the owner doesn't hear from them in a few days, he will work with hotel demons to have pets transferred into his care until they can be returned to their loving owners. All species of pets are welcomed, and separate care areas are set up for everything from birds to fish to even hellhounds.

Bullseye started off as an archery range, but has been refitted to focus on ammunitions target practice and knife throwing. Don't mind the blood stains on the walls. Weapons can be found organized off to one side. Sometimes lessons are offered to teach people proper gun handling and cleaning, archery, knife throwing and other ways of self defense.

    Payment: No payment required
Employees: Caleb Widogast [personal profile] dirtywizardman, Essek Thelyss [personal profile] gravity_fissure
Saint's Clinic is located at the edge of Hellburbia. It's a small, two-story commercial building that has been transformed into a medical clinic. There are about ten rooms (8 downstairs, two upstairs) that can be utilized for treatment, both for standard care and for more intense injuries. It is both a standard medical building and an emergency room due to how critical the need for medical care can be. Additionally, there is a greenhouse located on the backside of the property that houses medicinal plants and herbs.

Despite taking over the clinic and greenhouse, most of the attention will be paid to the greenhouse at this time until a cleric or medical professional can be employed as well.

    Hella Shorty's

    [personal profile] endofcompliance 2023-04-02 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
    Payment: Information, favors, valuable items
Employees: Bucky Barnes ([personal profile] endofcompliance)
Hella Shorty's is a former warehouse that Team Earp (Wynonna, Waverly, and Doc) converted into a bar, a place for locals to drink that's run by fellow sinners, not demons. There's much less chance of getting drugged here, and the bar serves as a safe harbor when the hotel oversight becomes too aggressive. It has a modern but rustic aesthetic with some old west flair in there as well. As of the latest renovations, there is now outdoor seating and a magical karaoke machine. Guests are invited to sing every song from their homeworlds.

After the departure of Team Earp from Penance, the bar was taken over Team Chicago (Aiden Pearce and Raymond "T-Bone" Kenney). After the departure of Team Chicago, Bucky inherited the bar. He plans to follow the Earps' original mission of running the bar as a safe place for sinners to gather.

Hella Shorty's Distillery is an offshoot of Hella Shorty's bar that mainly distills liquor in partnership with the bar, can also serve drinks. It's primary function was a secret location for discussions, as it has a hidden room behind the bar.
